PLEASE NOTE:
By renting from R’Frique, whether through our showroom, website, or Instagram, you agree to the terms outlined below. These terms ensure that each piece remains in impeccable condition for all our customers to enjoy.
1. Definitions
To keep things clear, here are some key terms:
• “Clothing” – Any piece or accessory available for hire.
• “Hire Cost” – The rental price for your selected piece.
• “Hire Period” – The duration of your rental, as agreed upon at checkout.
• “Late Fees” – Fees incurred for late returns, charged at R200 per day after the return deadline.
• “Replacement Fees” – The full retail value of a garment if lost, damaged, or altered.
• “Administration Fees” – Charges applied for late returns, cancellations, or exchanges.
2. Payments & Security
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay & Google Pay through our secure payment partners. Transactions are protected by SSL3 encryption, ensuring that your details remain private and secure.
3. Your Commitment to Care
Each R’Frique garment is an exquisite piece of African craftsmanship. To preserve its beauty for future customers:
• Handle with utmost care—avoid stains, tears, or alterations.
• Returns must be made on time and in the same pristine condition as received.
• If renting for commercial use, ensure you have the necessary designer release forms.
Should any issues arise upon receiving your rental, notify us immediately to avoid liability.
4. Late Returns & Damage Policy
Luxury should be shared—please return rentals on time to ensure others can enjoy them too.
Damage or Loss
Our clothing is entrusted to you with the expectation of care and respect. While minor mishaps can happen, certain damages may incur additional charges. These include, but are not limited to:

Stains (e.g., from food, drinks, or makeup)

Pulls, tears or snags in the fabric

Burns
If accidental damage occurs, contact us immediately with details of the damage and an image where possible. We’ll assess the situation and discuss potential repair or replacement fees.
Alterations to rented garments are strictly prohibited without our prior written consent. This includes resizing, hemming, adding or removing straps, or making any modifications. Unauthorised alterations will result in replacement charges, as they may render the garment unsuitable for future rentals.
Upon receiving your rented item, please inspect it and report any pre-existing damage or defects in writing. While the garment is in your possession, you are responsible for any loss, theft, or damage. If such an event occurs, we may charge your payment method for replacement costs, late fees, or administrative charges.
In cases where replacement fees are required, you will own the garment once all applicable charges are paid. Please note, this "sale" is final and made on an “as-is” basis, with no warranties provided.
• Late Returns: Charged at R200 per day beyond the return deadline.
• Significant Damage or Loss: If repairs are not possible, Replacement Fees (full retail value showcased on product page) will apply.
To avoid extra charges, return your garment promptly and in perfect condition.
5. Availability & Cancellations
While we strive to keep our collection available, unforeseen circumstances (e.g., delayed returns from previous renters) may affect stock. Should your selected piece become unavailable, we will notify you as soon as possible and issue a full refund or alternative rental option.
Cancellation Policy

10 or more working days before your rental start date:

We can reschedule your rental to a new future date, or
-
Issue you with a gift-card to the value of your rental amount which will be valid for 2 years, or

Cancel your rental and issue you with a full refund. Refunds are processed through our payment merchant and can take between 7-10 working days to reflect in your account

Within 6 working days* of your rental start date but before the item has been shipped or collected:

We can reschedule your rental to a new future date, or
-
Issue you with a gift-card to the value of your rental amount

Unable to issue you with a cash refund

*please note: if your delivery address is outside Johannesburg, the item will be shipped two working days before the rental start date, in these cases the below will apply.

if you let us know after your item has been shipped to you, or when you have already collected/received the item:

We are unable to refund the rental amount, reschedule or issue you with a refund. This is due to costs already incurred such as delivery, dry cleaning, packaging etc.

Every item leaving and returning to the studio is dry-cleaned regardless of whether it has been worn.
When items are returned, they undergo a thorough inspection. In cases of damage, R’Frique reserves the right to charge your payment method for repair costs or the retail value of the garment.
If an item doesn't fit, notify us within 4 hours of receipt. We’ll assist with a size exchange or a return if available. For returns due to sizing issues, you’ll receive a gift card for the rental amount, excluding dry cleaning and delivery fees. Please note that an administrative fee may apply.
6. Delivery & Returns
• You are responsible for being available at your chosen delivery address.
• If our courier cannot reach you, additional delivery fees may apply.
• Garments are professionally cleaned and arrive ready to wear.
• If the incorrect garment is delivered, we will extend your rental or offer a full refund.
Returning Your Rental
• Be on time. Late returns incur fees.
• Use the same courier service. Alternative returns must be pre-arranged with us prior to the rental start date
• Inspect & report issues immediately. If your garment doesn’t fit, notify us within 4 hours of receipt for an exchange or gift card (minus cleaning and delivery fees).
7. Legal & General Terms
• Our jurisdiction is South Africa, and our business complies with all local laws.
• R’Frique retains the right to amend these terms at any time.
• If unforeseen events (such as extreme weather or service disruptions) impact your rental, we are not liable.
